Jelf Fundraising for Cancer Research
Relay For Life YateSo on 7th July one of Jelf’s Finance Assistants, Claire Wiltshire, is taking part in the Relay For Life Yate with her son and his Scout group.
Relay For Life is a team fundraising challenge bringing communities together to beat cancer. Teams of family and friends fundraise for life-saving cancer research throughout the year. Cancer never sleeps, so neither do the teams as they set up camp and take turns to walk round the track for the duration of the event.
On top of this, the Scout group have organised a balloon race to help with fundraising! The balloons are £2 each and there is a prize for the balloon that travels the furthest. You can donate directly to Claire’s team by copying this link into your browser: goo.gl/zrqwjg.
They are hoping to beat last year’s total of £1,500.
This is the third year the group has taken part and this year is especially close to their hearts, as the Cub Leader and Relay team captain recently received the very sad news that a member of his family has stage 4 cancer. So as a tribute to him, the team have arranged for the release of 500 black and white balloons, because he is a Hull united fan.
The balloons will be released on Saturday evening during the relay for life.
