Bluefin achieves Cyber Essentials certification

We are pleased to announce that Bluefin has achieved Cyber Essentials certification. Cyber Essentials is a Government backed scheme designed to promote good cyber security practices to businesses throughout the UK.

In order to be awarded a Cyber Essentials certificate, organisations need to demonstrate that appropriate controls, processes and policies are in place across the following five areas of Information Security:

  • Boundary Firewalls and Internet Gateways
  • Secure Configuration
  • Access Control
  • Malware Protection
  • Patch Management

With the increasing rate of cyber attacks, it is essential that businesses take action to protect themselves and their clients, and by successfully completing a Cyber Essentials assessment, organisations lower their risk of serious data and financial loss. Additionally, as a recognised standard, it is becoming more common for businesses in the private sector to ask that service providers have Cyber Essentials to provide assurances of good information security management.

Graeme Lalley, Group IT & Operations Director, commented: “I am delighted that we have achieved the Cyber Essentials certification. We are committed to meeting the highest standards of security and holding this award, demonstrates to our clients and suppliers that we are doing everything possible to protect their data and remain cyber safe.”

Thank you to the IT team for all their hard work over the past 12 months which has led us to be able to achieve this.
