Annual Jelf Wellbeing Event: Mental Health in the Workplace (Bristol)
It’s time for Jelf’s annual wellbeing event, and this year we are focusing on a key employment topic of the moment, Mental Health in the Workplace.
To explore this subject we have sought out three expert speakers as follows:
- Some practical and pragmatic insights into Mental Health with Dr Wolfgang Seidl
- Louise Aston will take a detailed look at embedding Wellbeing & Organisational Culture
- And we are delighted to welcome back the internationally recognised presenter, trainer, and best-selling author, Paul McGee (The S.U.M.O. Guy)! Paul will round off our event with a fun and inclusive look at Mindset & Motivation
As ever we also have another superb venue for our delegates to enjoy. This time we return to the (rather splendid) Clifton Pavilion at Bristol Zoo Gardens. Our venue overlooks the zoo, and all our delegates will have free access to the attraction once the seminar concludes. The zoo is one of the oldest in the world, and holds more than 400 rare and endangered species including penguins, lions, sloths and pygmy hippos. Free car parking for all delegates is included.

Agenda
Wellbeing & Organisational Culture: "Embedding wellbeing"
Wellbeing in the Workplace is an increasingly important topic for employers, and Louise will take a detailed look at how organisations can utilise a whole person, whole system approach to this topic. This session will include insights into the Business in the Community (BITC) Workwell Model refresh, and the new Responsible Business Map. Also included will be insights and findings from the 2017 Mental Health at Work report, and spotlights for the 2018 survey.
Louise Aston, Wellbeing Director, Business in the Community
Mental Health: "We all have mental-health - So what?"
Given the increasing efforts by employers to address falling health levels and, in particular, the increase in those experiencing mental health issues, there is still a worrying disconnect between how senior leaders think employee mental health is being supported and the true reality of the support for those on the “shop floor”. Wolfgang will therefore advance a pragmatic argument and solutions to destigmatise mental health in the workplace and provide practical guidelines to address related issues.
Dr Wolfgang Seidl, Workplace Health Consulting Leader, Mercer Marsh Benefits
Mind-set & Motivation: "How to survive and thrive in changing times"
We are delighted to welcome back the internationally recognised presenter, trainer, and best-selling author, Paul McGee (The SUMO Guy) to once again share his experience and expertise with delegates. This time Paul will look at why mindset matters, the importance of getting perspective, and why success comes from the support of others. Paul’s presentations are always lively and entertaining, combined with a core of common sense. This is sure to be an enlightening, motivating, and fun conclusion to our event.
