Social impact update September 2019

September was another action-packed month, with Jelf colleagues from across the country giving up their time to give back to their communities.

After another busy month of charitable activity and volunteering days, we want to shout about our fantastic employees. Here is what they have been up to in September:

Shrewsbury get digging

Shrewsbury took part in their volunteer day with Shropshire Wildlife Fund.

Every single one of the staff from the branch took part and had an absolutely fantastic day. They even used their Eco lodge to have lunch in, sharing homemade cakes and picnic items!

‘Street Care’ needs you!

Eight months ago, Ella Wallcraft from Chipping Sodbury started a charity with her family - ‘Street Care’ - which aims to help vulnerable people living on the streets of Bristol and the surrounding areas.

The charity is rapidly growing and we’d like to place on record how proud we are of Ella and the team, great work!

Worcester go the extra mile for a good cause

Worcester Apex raised money for a local child, Oscar Saxelby-Lee from Worcester, who has T-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia recently.

Oscar has had a stem cell transplant in May this year but unfortunately the transplant hasn’t worked.

Oscar’s family are currently trying to raise £500k to fund either a second transplant, or enrol onto Car-T therapy in Singapore.

We're all rooting for you, Oscar!

A minute on the lips..

Our Cumbria office took part in a coffee morning last week to raise money for Hospice at Home West Cumbria.

As always with our Jelf cake sales, there was an array of goodies, with not a crumb going to waste.

Snacks, snacks, snacks..

The Jessie May Trust tuck shop was born in Castlemead, Bristol on September 2 and has of course needed a couple of restocks since!

The team have raised around £225 so far and are planning to donate to the charity every time the money box hits £500.

If you're visiting the Bristol office in the coming months, make sure you drop by the tuck shop and contribute to this worthy cause...while enjoying a tasty treat.

Great work, all!

We can't wait to show you what we get up to next month!
