Jelf puts client's passions in pole position at Goodwood FoS

Earlier this month, the Jelf Private Client team hosted an array of clients and guests from all across the country, who all share a passion for cars, at Goodwood Festival of Speed.

The setting for the day was at the exclusive Goodwood Kennels where guests enjoyed lunch and views across to Goodwood house. A short golf buggy trip took everyone straight into the action of the day at the festival. The event was revamped this year with a new theme and new attractions. Highlights of the day included the world famous hill climb, action packed arena displays, the future lab and the futuristic first glance paddock.

The festival mainly revolves around the hill climb and 2019 was a special year as it marked 20 years since Nick Heidfeld claimed the hill climb record in 41.6 seconds. Unbelievably, this was beaten this year by the VW all electric I.D.R Pikes Peak racer in a time of 39.9 seconds!

Many new cars were revealed at the event, which is becoming increasingly popular as visitors get to see these cars in action. Cars on display were the Ford GT Mk11, Porsche Cayman GT4, McLaren Senna GTR and the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ to name a few.

Following the excitement of the racing, guests headed back to the exclusive Kennels and enjoyed a 3 course lunch accompanied by an exclusive wine list collated by Paul Emery, Head of Private Clients. This was a prime opportunity for Paul to share his passion for wine with guests of Jelf at a fantastic venue where he is a member. The famous Goodwood Kennels is also the club house for the Goodwood Road and Racing Club.

After lunch, a silent auction took place where £1,500 was raised for St Richards Hospice which is a charity often supported by the Jelf Private Client team. The prize kindly donated by Morgan Motors gave one of our guests the opportunity to own a Morgan Roadster for a weekend and have an exclusive tour of their factory in Malvern, Worcestershire. If that wasn’t enough, a spectacular air display entertained the crowds over Goodwood house to round off an incredible day for Jelf and their guests. Feedback from guests included:

“Thank you so much for an absolutely wonderful occasion. I most thoroughly enjoyed myself at the event which was so meticulously well organised. Please pass on my great appreciation and much thanks to your colleagues.”

“I would like to thank you all immensely for a wonderful day, out of the office and an awesome experience at the “Goodwood Festival of Speed” and your hospitality.”

It was a pleasure to spend time with our guests at an event that evokes passion for what they love, cars!
